Mindfulness has become popular in recent times and spiritual psychologist Cynthia Hickman explains that when we are mindful we become a little more aware of what we are doing as we are doing it. Cynthia Hickman makes the point that this is fine as far as it goes but the technique is still about the mind. It doesn’t take into consideration the quality of energy in which we carry ourselves through life. We could still be hard or uncaring while we were mindful. Heartfulness on the other hand means the quality of the energy you are in is what counts as you are carrying out any particular activity. If the quality we are living in involves gentleness or care, then this quality of energy will connect us with our heart. If we were all to live with this quality it would create a very different world to live in.
